Day 3: My Roots

I am thankful that I have been able to learn more about my family and culture. As a Nigerian American finding a sense of identity has always been tough because it seems that I may not be enough of either side at times. Early this year I was able to visit Nigeria for the very first time in my life (I know, I was by the grace of God too). I met my extended family and learned a lot. The love I felt was amazing. I still carry that love around with me. There was something about coming together, sharing stories in my parents native village that grounded my footing in my own identity.
